International outlets soar for Cruise Confidential

To my surprise, Cruise Confidential is now six months old. What does that mean? First of all, that means it is most likely not to be found on the shelves of bookstores. The average lifespan of a book on a shelf is a mere few weeks, unless it is already a bestselling author or subject. Happily, Cruise Confidential is still churning away. A grass roots campaign has led to a lot of additional awareness of the book, and the wild support of anyone who has ever worked on a cruise ship has been very satisfying, but the biggest surprise to the author was the international sales outlets.

My book is about the cruise industry which, of course, spans the globe. But the humor and focus is predominantly American, or so I thought. I have discovered a vibrant support scene from our neighbors to the North in Canada, but also from across the water. England has numerous outlets still running, outside of merely online retailers, as does Ireland. The exceptionally notable Thomas Cook magazine is featuring Cruise Confidential this month, and even English ferries are selling the book! A wonderful cruise-lovers site from England can be found at this link:

Yet more than our British brethren, I have received mail from fans who have purchased the book in the Caribbean (St. Thomas, specifically) and even as far away as New Zealand! There are a couple outlets down under. So six months after the release date, we are still steaming into the horizon happily. As I continue to write the sequel, which will wrap up some loose ends, these expanded ports are all good!
