For those who want to know how to avoid the greatest scourge of cruising... the norovirus... read my new article, WHY YOU GET A CRUISE VIRUS. The norovirus, otherwise known as the Norwalk virus, is like the common cold but more intense, with the added bonus of a very unhappy and heaving stomach. People are terrified of it, hearing about plague ships being denied access to their ports for fear of spreading the plague. I have seen news reports about it plastered over the airwaves, freakin' people out and even getting some to cancel cruises.
People (Americans in particular) are morbidly fascinated with bad news. The media pounces on just the HINT of an outbreak with relish, and if there is even a remote possibility of a ship being denied access to Miami, for example, the media celebrates with more fanfar than the moon landing! Having endured dozens of outbreaks over the years on numerous cruise ships from numerous cruise lines, I've learned that it's all so over-inflated by the press that it makes my head spin.
So lighten up, people! Think for yourself and analyse what's going on. Is there really a risk for you to get a norovirus? Even on a red-alert ship, you'll find the answer is no. Read my article to find out why and how. Remember, panicking never solved anything, and the way to avoid getting sick at sea is so insanely simple that any child can do it. Seriously!
Follow this link below and see WHY people get sick. There's a million articles perpetuating the hysteria and the danger, but oh so few that actually tell you the nasty truth about how people get sick. Why? Because people are offended by the REAL reason they get sick. Deal with it, folks, be adults!

Why Americans Fail at Sea
Rather incendiary title, eh? My new article published online is so titled. Cruise lines avoid hiring Americans like we have the plague. But why? This article contains a short, concise list of the top reasons we Americans fail the the ships at every turn. Is it the Americans' fault, or perhaps the cruise industry? Or is it the failure of all Americans who have ever taken a cruise vacation... are you guilty, too? Read the article and find out!
